Before Meeting
- Verify profiles by checking for verification badges and complete information
- Conduct video calls before meeting in person to confirm identity
- Research the person and check their references thoroughly
- Trust your instincts - if something feels wrong, it probably is
- Never send money or share financial information before meeting
Meeting in Person
- Always meet in a public place for the first meeting (coffee shop, mall, etc.)
- Tell a friend or family member where you're going and who you're meeting
- Arrange your own transportation - don't accept rides from strangers
- Keep your phone charged and accessible
- Consider having a trusted person nearby for your first meeting
Online Communication
- Keep conversations on our platform until you're comfortable sharing contact details
- Don't share sensitive information like your home address, ID number, or banking details
- Be wary of requests for money or financial assistance
- Report any inappropriate messages or harassment immediately
- Block users who make you uncomfortable
For Families
- Always conduct in-person interviews before hiring an au pair
- Verify references by speaking directly with previous employers
- Consider a trial period before making long-term commitments
- Ensure clear communication about expectations, duties, and compensation
- Create a written agreement outlining terms of employment
For Au Pairs
- Research the family thoroughly before accepting a position
- Ask for references from previous au pairs if possible
- Ensure you have a clear understanding of duties, hours, and pay
- Know your rights and local labor regulations
- Have a backup plan and emergency contacts in place
Account Security
- Use a strong, unique password for your account
- Never share your login credentials with anyone
- Log out when using shared computers
- Enable notifications for account activity
